New Parent Survey Results

We recently asked parents whose children started in EYFS in the autumn term of 2017 to complete a ‘new parent survey’. The findings are provided here.

Thank you to those parents who were able to send in responses. The number of respondents to the survey was 8, which was less than we had hoped for.

Here are the things that you told us.

Things that we are doing well

  • 100% of the respondents rated their overall experience of Halley House School so far this year as good (25%) or excellent (75%)
  • 100% of the respondents gave a scale of 7 and above in terms of how likely that are to recommend Halley House to their friends

Examples of parent comments

  • We love the school!
  • We are hugely impressed with all aspects of the school and very pleased we chose it for our daughter
  • My child has settled in well and every day comes home with new knowledge!

Areas to improve

  • The frequency of communication parents received before their children start at the school
  • Day-to-day communication between home and school

Examples of parent comments

  • A little more information on what procedures should be prior to the first day might be really helpful/ More support in helping parents to prepare their children for the start at their new school
  • Better, clearer communication by letter. Parents need more pastoral care.
  • The outdoor adventures induction sessions need to be more structured and more welcoming to new families

We will take your feedback on board when we start planning the transition process for September 2018.

Thank you very much for your comments. These help us to make Halley House School the best it can be for our pupils.
