Pupil selected for Young Artist Summer Show
My favourite bee - Stefania
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate our pupil, Stefania, who had her artwork selected for the prestigious Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show.
The Royal Academy of Arts' selection process is famously competitive, and Stefania’s piece was chosen from thousands of entries nationwide to be featured in the RA's Young Artist Summer Show online gallery. This is a fantastic achievement and a true reflection of Stefania’s creativity and skills.
I made this painting of a bee because I like bees and I saw them in the summer and they are very beautiful. I paint the flowers as well with my favourite colours and I used a lot of paint because it looks really funny like the flowers come out of the painting. - Stefania
Stefania's artwork was submitted by her mother; we are particularly pleased to see how our families have been supporting their children's interests in the arts, having learnt about this exhibition last year through our Arts Educator Kate Hodgson. Kate says: "This shows that there is a vibrant culture of art and competition flourishing both within our school and at home."
Malgorzata, Stefania's mother, said: "We're so proud of Stefania and really appreciate the way Ms Hodgson makes art feel creative, personal, and accessible for every child. It's so wonderful to see the children encouraged to develop their own ideas and express themselves through drawing and painting."
This is the second year in a row that a Halley's pupil wins a spot in this prestigious exhibition - see Khaiyron's entry here. And since then, we have also been awarded the Artsmark Silver Award by Arts Council's England!
Huge congratulations to the whole family on this brilliant achievement; we can’t wait to see the work shown in the online gallery!
