We are delighted to announce that Claire Syms will be joining Halley House School as Headteacher Designate in April 2015. Claire joins us from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Woodberry Down Community Primary School in Hackney where she has been Deputy Head for three years.
Claire has a BA Honours degree and Qualified Teacher Status and her teaching has consistently been graded as ‘Outstanding’ by members of the Senior Leadership Team at the school and by Ofsted. Claire is also a PGCE student lead mentor and, as the Read Write Inc. Reading Leader for her school, is responsible for the on-going monitoring and development of the Read Write Inc. Phonics, Comprehension and Literacy & Language programmes. Claire has also led literacy training for phonics programmes.
Claire said: “Choosing a child’s first school is probably the most important decision that parents will make. Halley House School will have the advantage of following the successful Bellevue Place Education Trust model already in place. We are committed to providing a broad and exciting education in a happy environment and doing everything possible to make sure that pupils achieve everything that they are capable of. I look forward to meeting prospective parents at our January Open Event.”
