Curriculum

The curriculum at our school is broad and balanced, providing opportunities for pupils of all abilities and backgrounds to succeed. There is a focus on core learning and maximising the use of ICT to enable all pupils to have full access to the curriculum.

From the Nursery Class to Year 6 in Key Stage 2, Halley House School offers a curriculum suitable for our inclusive intake that meets the needs of all pupils and leads to high standards of academic and personal achievement. We follow the EYFS and National Curriculum, and incorporate ICT into the wider curriculum, using innovative and inspiring approaches. We have an extensive pastoral support programme, and a rich curriculum encompassing PSHE, RSE and RE.

Our SENCO does not have a full time teaching responsibility to enable them to ensure that requirements of the SEN Code of Practice are met. She works with teachers and the team of classroom assistants to support pupils with specific learning needs so that they can participate fully, learn and succeed. When they leave us at the end of Year 6, pupils will have received an excellent education preparing them for their secondary school of choice, be it in the maintained or private sector.
