We are delighted to be offering free yoga classes to local parents and their babies aged 3-18 months.
From 7 June 2023, Halley House School opens its doors to parents and carers who would like to have a moment to relax, move and enjoy a cup of tea in the company of other caregivers.
These ‘baby & me’ yoga classes are aimed at creating a connection with one’s own baby through nursery rhymes and massage, and reconnect with oneself through gentle movement. The classes are relaxing, fun, friendly and everyone is welcome to breast-feed, bottle-feed, change nappies and walk around the room as needed.
Yoga mats and props are provided, but it is advisable to bring a muslin or a blanket for babies to lie on. Refreshments will be offered during the final 10-15 minutes of each session, creating a supportive space to socialise with fellow caregivers and their babies.
We don’t feel we are just a school but a real community, and pride ourselves in our engagement with the local area: these classes have been set up to support carers during the first few months of their children’s lives.
The classes are held during term-time only, on Wednesdays from 2.00-2.45pm. Booking is essential, check dates on the right hand side of the screen.
“I love the yoga class taught by Sarai at Halley House School! The exercises were aimed at the mums (rather than having the focus on the babies) whilst the babies were able to roam free. Sarai really managed to support the mums whilst also keeping an eye on the babies, making it a really great and relaxing experience!” – Regular participant
