As we prepare for the festive season, our thoughts have moved forward to the next school term when we welcome our new substantive Headteacher, Mr Toby Mills-Bishop.
Mr Mills-Bishop is joining us having previously been the Executive Headteacher of two schools in Hertfordshire, where he is relocating from in order to work with us in Hackney.
We say goodbye and a big thank you to Mr Gavin Farrell for all his hard work during the last transition term. He has supported the transition of leadership with a number of unforeseen challenges being managed really well. His planning has enabled the school to be in a strong position for next term. Mr Farrell worked closely with our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Mallett, who has been allocated to us to add capacity during this time, as well as regularly being in touch with Mr Mills-Bishop. Mrs Mallett will keep working with the school until the end of the academic year.
As a school community, at this time of the year we also remember Marley Thomas, who passed away a year ago. We are very proud of how everyone has pulled together through these challenging times and we look forward to focusing on delivering our ambitious vision across the school. We are so pleased with the progress pupils have continued to make this term, along with the exciting activities and events they have been involved in.
We are planning on starting the new term strongly, with Mr Mills-Bishop leading the INSET day on 5 January along with a comprehensive induction plan for the school, ahead of pupils returning on Monday 8 January 2024.
