Our new adult training and meeting room is now ready for use! Amongst other uses, we are delighted to be able to continue hosting National Professional Qualification (NPQ) facilitation as a Delivery Partner for Best Practice Network (BPN), with participants attending from a range of settings around the country.
We are delighted that our youngest pupils – Nursery, Apollo Class – have started to have their weekly P.E. lessons at The Petchey Academy!

As a school we decided to undertake a ‘Readathon’ throughout the whole of Book Week. The aim was to achieve someone reading throughout the week. As staff we were delighted that we broke the target by quite a few hours, with many children still requesting to come down and use the reading chairs during breaks and lunch. Well done to everyone! …

Friday 4 February was National NSPCC Number Day where schools were encouraged to ‘Dress up for Digits’ and have a fun-filled day of maths activities and games, while raising money to support services such as Childline. This half-term Nursery’s topic is ‘Traditional Tales’ and this week they have been reading The Little Red Hen. There has been some amazing learning taking place in nursery … They have blasted off in space and discovered glow in the dark stars. Looking at the Moon, the children found out that there are huge holes, called Craters! Look at these amazing picture montages!
